Industrial Sunscreen Systems

J. Mosher Enterprises, in Sarasota FL,  is an Industrial Service and Repair company; servicing clean water, waste water treatment plants, and organic compost recycle facilities. Serving in the Sarasota, Manatee, and Charlotte counties for over 15 years, I now offer affordable sunscreen cover systems for Chlorine Contact Chambers, liquid chemical storage tanks, and other industrial applications.

The fabric is a high quality, USA manufactured, UV, and chemical resistant, heavy-duty, outdoor, 90% shade protection,  polypropylene knit fabric that lets water and air through, and will not  absorb water, fray or unravel if damaged, unlike cheaper woven type fabrics.

Brass grommets are placed every 12” around the perimeter and double grommets are on all corners.

Grommet pinch pleats (GPP) are installed for additional support to the center area.

The material has a one (1) year manufacturer’s warranty against material defects and workmanship. Well over five (5) years of service is expected, with proper installation. This requires the screen material to “hang” in the air, and to be laced around the perimeter, similar to a trampoline, rather than left laying on top of a support frame.

The lacing has now been hurricane upgraded to 316 grade, marine stainless steel cable.

All other cabling and hardware is also marine grade, 316 stainless steel.

Any other additional materials are anodized or plated aluminum.

Florida’s sun and heat are brutal to chlorine. There is now an affordable method for protecting it. Sunscreen systems for most basic, ground level chambers with existing aluminum railings,  start as low as $6.25 per square foot, including installation.

A  25% annual recovery cost is possible, making this system more cost effective than a “pool cage” type enclosure.

The rigging system is designed for removal of the screen, should a hurricane, or other severe event, becomes a threat.

The same type of hand rail system and screen can be installed to protect liquid chemical storage tanks. Reducing the UV and heat on HDPE, LDPE, and XLPE type tanks can greatly increase their life.
